Regarding the use and maintenance of summer car tires

The weather in August is getting hotter and hotter, not only do people need to pay attention to heatstroke prevention, but cars also need it.

Especially the four tires that come into close contact with the ground require the owner's maintenance to ensure normal driving in hot weather.

Tire maintenance seems to be a perennial topic, but with the arrival of summer, how to prevent tire blowouts remains a major concern for everyone.

So, what issues should we pay attention to when using and maintaining summer car tires?

1. Regularly check

Due to the increase in temperature in summer, the tire tread is softer than in winter, which theoretically accelerates tire wear.

The service life of tires specified by general manufacturers is between 80000 and 100000 kilometers (or about 5 years).

In addition to regularly checking tire pressure, it is also necessary to inspect the surface condition of the tires.

For example, the wear and tear of the tire tread, the aging of the sidewall and sidewall, etc. If the tire has a tread pattern depth less than 106mm, aging and cracking of the tread and sidewall, shoulder studs, tread studs, large damage areas, and old valves, it is recommended that the owner replace the tire with a new one.

2. Cool down the tires

If your car needs to run on highways for long distances, you should regularly cool down the tires during the journey.

Tires exposed to direct sunlight are prone to blowouts, so some car owners may think of splashing cold water to cool them down.

Although this method significantly reduces the temperature, it may also cause deformation and cracking of the tires.

If you find that the tire pressure is too high or smell the odor of rubber burning, you should park the car in a cool place as soon as possible to cool it down.

Remember not to use cold water to directly cool down.

A sudden drop in temperature may damage the internal structure of the tire, and may even cause cracks and deformation in the tire.
